The Earliest Schwenk Pottery
The earliest forms of Schwenk pottery can be identified by the reddish colour of the clay as well as the signature on the bottom. Early in their careers, the Schwenks would travel to Kelowna to dig this clay from a local source. Pots were decorated with painted underglazes and them finished with a clear glaze. The bottoms were singed with a painted "Schwenk"
